Biography

Blaine Landis is an Assistant Professor of Organizational Behavior.

His research takes a psychological approach to understanding social networks in organizations.

His published research identifies the personality characteristics linked with advantageous network positions in the workplace, as well as the network positions most closely related to job performance and career success. His review of personality and social network research in organizations discusses the major work in this area.

As a personality psychologist, he explores personality differences in how people change their spending patterns in response to being poor.

In ongoing work, he focuses on how networks change over time, how people misperceive their relationships to others at work, and the consequences of misperceived relationships.

He teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses on organizational behavior. He has previously taught organizational behavior at the University of Cambridge.

Dr Landis holds a PhD in Organizational Behavior from the University of Cambridge. His work has appeared in Journal of Applied Psychology, Organization Science, Psychological Science, and Journal of Organizational Behavior
