A graduate of the Bartlett, David has been part of the teaching staff since 1995. He was previously the Director of Undergraduate Studies of the School of Construction and Project Management between 1997 - 2011 and a Senior Lecturer in the subject of construction project management. David continues to be involved in teaching of the BSc Project Management for Construction programme.

As well as his role at the Bartlett, David has maintained a direct involvement in the management of projects. With 40 years experience of major construction projects, both in the UK and overseas, he has a wide and extensive knowledge of the practical workings of both construction project and the construction industry. He has spent the last 30 years involved in construction project management with a number of organisations.

David has been an active member of The Chartered Institute of Building for 40 years, at local, regional and national level. He has been a member of a number of national committees and has represented CIOB on multi-professional organisations. He has been on the advisory panels for the production of a number of major project management texts, and is currently chairing the working group producing the 5th edition of the CIOB's Code of Practice of Construction Project Management.

Teaching Summary

David currently teaches the 1st year introductory course 'The construction industry and its management'. He supervises BSc students who undertake dissertations in a management related topic and acts as personal tutor to a number of students
