Research Summary
Mapping the European Breton Lai

I hold a Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship within SELCS, and am conducting a three-year project, Mapping the European Breton Lai, which traces the dissemination of Breton lais (fantastical short verse narratives, first written in the twelfth century) across medieval Europe.

More information is available on my project blog:

http://blogs.ucl.ac.uk/european-breton-lai/

My research areas include comparative literature (French, Middle English, Old Norse, Middle Dutch); translation; medieval literary theory; manuscript culture and codicology; fairy tales.
