Biography

Eleni is Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Building Information Modelling and Management and management consultant and executive coach in construction digitalisation. She is involved as a Steering Board member and administrator in the UCL's Construction Blockchain Consortium (CBC) social enterprise.

Prior to joining academia Eleni worked as architect and design manager on a number of complex, international, and varying-scale projects in Greece, the Netherlands, and the Middle-East. Eleni holds a PhD degree in Design and Construction Management on the topic of ‘Alignment of Partnering with Construction IT’ from Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), Netherlands, and a MSc degree (cum laude) in Architecture – with an emphasis on digital technologies – also from TU Delft. Before moving to the Netherlands, Eleni obtained a Diploma in Architectural Engineering (cum laude) from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Greece.

Research Summary

Eleni’s research interests lie at the intersection of management, social science, and engineering. She has been looking at Building Information Modelling (BIM) as a domain of Information Technology (IT) for generating, sharing, and managing consistent information among various actors, based on the principles of information systems interoperability. As BIM and digital technologies affect collaboration in projects, Eleni has been researching BIM and digital transformation from an intra- and inter-organisational standpoint, and in particular through the lens of supply chains and networks. She is interested in digital and relational aspects of governance of project network for and due to the advancement of construction IT.

Teaching Summary

Eleni teaches at undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral and executive levels. She is leading the MSc option module on 'Integrating Project Information Systems with Building Information Modelling' for PEM and CEM programmes and the 2-year BSc module: ‘Professional skills for Project Management’. Eleni is supervising dissertations at both BSc and MSc levels.
