Giancarlo Amati is Research Associate and 3D Digital Developer at the Department of Public and Cultural Engagement at UCL. He develops educational interactive applications using a Unity3D game engine framework. His main research interests regard computer graphics, augmented reality, 3D scientific visualization and Human Computer Interaction techniques (HCI). After graduating in Computer Science at the University of Bologna, he completed a Ph.D. in Design and Methods for Industrial Engineering and bacame lecturer in Computer Graphics and Advanced Computer Graphics for the University of Ferrara. In 2007, he became Research Associate in Medical Imaging at the King's College London where he developed a computer assisted arthroscopy system in collaboration the Guy's and St. Thomas' Hospital London. In 2010, he joined the PaCE Department at UCL producing interactive and digital installations for the three main museums and teaching collections.
