Biography
Gideon is a Senior Teaching Fellow in Early Years and Primary Education, working across different teacher education programmes. He is the Science lead on the Primary PGCE programme and a maths specialist with the TeachFirst team. His lecturing commitment at the IoE also includes teaching on a couple of MSc Psychology courses. He has over 11 years’ experience as a primary class teacher, serving various roles in the classroom and whole school leadership. His research interests include the role played by the motivational and affective elements in academic performance and how they are developed by children. This includes self-regulation, self-efficacy and maths anxiety including how they are influenced by cultural factors.
