Following her laboratory-based PhD in Virology and Immunology at the University of Cambridge, Dr. Stagg moved to the Health Protection Agency's Tuberculosis Section in 2010 and retrained in epidemiology. After her secondment to Brigham and Women's Hospital/Harvard School of Public Health, in 2012 she took up a Research Associate post at University College London, from which she was promoted to Senior Research Associate in 2013. She was subsequently awarded a National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Postdoctoral Fellowship, becoming a Senior Research Fellow in 2015. Within the Centre for Infectious Disease Epidemiology she line manages research staff members and is secondary supervisor to two PhD students. She has broad interests in the epidemiology of communicable diseases
across vulnerable and neglected population groups, particularly the
interface between the laboratory sciences and public health, as well as
scientifically novel academic research and policy.
