Research Summary

I am broadly interested in understanding how selection produces phenotypic diversity. Much of the work in my lab group is designed to identify evolutionary constraints and conflicts, and to understand how selection navigates the restrictions imposed by genomic architecture to create phenotypic diversity. Our current projects use a variety of animals of evolutionary and ecological relevance, and take advantage of convergence, artificial selection and sexual selection to study the genome-phenotype relationship across multiple levels of the central dogma (genomes, transcriptomes, organisms).
