Ms Lilian Gergely

Lilian has an undergraduate degree in English and German with a qualified teaching status and a master in Translation Studies. Before moving to England she spent most of her life in Vienna. She moved to England in 2011 and has worked in secondary and higher education in Middleborough, London, Newcastle and Hull.

Research Summary

Lilian's main research interests lie in transgenerational and transnational memory as well as Holocaust literature from the second and third generation.
Her upcoming publication analyses transgenerational and transnational memory in Robert Schindel’s novels Gebürtig and Der Kalte.

Teaching Summary

Lilian is teaching first, second and fourth year modules at UCL.
