Dr. Laura Vallejo-Torres is currently a Research Associate in Health Economics at the UCL Department of Applied Health Research. She holds a first degree in Economics from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain, an MSc in Health Economics from the University of York, and a PhD in Health Economics from UCL. Prior to this position Laura worked as a Researcher at University of la Laguna in Spain, as Principal Research Associate in Health Economics at the UCL Clinical Trials Unit, and as a Research Fellow at the Health Economics Research Group at Brunel University.
Laura´s main research interests are in the economic evaluation alongside clinical trials and in the equity in the distribution of health service utilisation. She has a specific interest in vertical equity in the delivery of health care. She has extensive experience using economic evaluation modeling techniques and econometric methods for the analysis of health and health care.
Laura was a Visiting Lecturer at City University from 2010 to 2013 contributing to the Economics of Health Care, Economic Evaluation and Advanced Economic Evaluation master modules.
She was a lecturer at University of la Laguna where she lead the Introduction to Economics module for undergraduate students and a module on Advance Quantitative Methods in a Master Programme of Economics and Public Policy.
She has taught in several Economic Evaluation short courses and supervised MSc student's disserations.
