Dr Mazaher Molaei Chalchooghi

Biography

Mazaher Molaei Chalchooghi received his BSc and MSc degree in chemical engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) in 2004 and 2007 respectively. He then studied on modelling and simulation of fluidized bed reactors for CO2 capture from post combustion gases and he achieved his PhD degree from the University of Greenwich (Centre of Numerical Modelling) in London. He then started his first post-doctoral research in 2011 on modelling and CFD simulation of spray jet flame for combustion of ethanol-alcohol in a Multi-Nozzle system of Flame Spray Pyrolysis for Nanoparticle Production, in school of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, Kingston University, UK. He then moved to the Leeds University in 2013 to work as a research associate on Modelling of Spray Drying Towers (A project founded by TSB: to make a step change in spray drying efficiency). Following to this, he joined to UCL in October 2014 as a teaching fellow.

Teaching Summary

He teaches computational tools in chemical engineering including gPROMS, ChemCAD, GAMS, etc. in both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. He also develops and implements new learning materials.
