My passion for science began in 1998 as an Erasmus student (EU program) at St. Radboud University Hospital, Nijmegen (The Netherlands). In 2001, I joined the Department of Internal Medicine, University of Geneva (Switzerland), as a PhD student. In 2005 I joined as a post-doc the Department of Cell Physiology and Metabolism, University of Geneva (Switzerland). In 2008, supported by an interdisciplinary fellowship (EIPOD) I undertook a second post-doctoral project at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), between Heidelberg (Germany) and Monterotondo (Italy). I am currently a Principal Investigator at the UCL Institute for Liver and Digestive Health, Royal Free Hospital.

Research Summary
I have a long standing interest in the cellular signaling and epigenetics mechanisms involved in metabolic stress and aging in several organ systems.

My current main interests are:
- liver diseases (HCV, NAFLD, NASH, HCC)
- epigenetics
- aging signaling pathways
- circadian clock
- caloric restriction (fasting)
