Currently, I am a biocurator at UCL funded by the British
Heart Foundation to annotate cardiovascular-related gene products using GO (gene
ontology) terms, and protein-protein interactions using the EBI database IntAct. I work as part of a growing team under Dr Ruth Lovering. Part of my role is teaching on the MSc course in advanced human genetics part of the UCL Genetics Institute (UGI).
Prior to this, I was awarded my PhD degree from UCL School of Pharmacy in Prof. Stephen Neidle’s lab in X-ray crystallographic and molecular dynamics computational studies of G-quadruplex DNA structures in complex with anti-cancer ligands. In fact, my MSc project in the same lab led to my progress to PhD studies followed by post-doctoral position for three years.
I have worked in epidemiological and clinical trials as a data manager and screener at Moorfields Eye Hospital at the Reading Centre as part of the MacTel Project & the Diabetic Retinal Screening Programme under Dr Tunde Peto, in collaboration with Dr Imre Lengyel at the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology.
