Biography

​​​​I studied Mathematics degree in University of Granada​ (Spain) in 2000/05. I had a Graduate Student position in Department of Applied Mathematics, University of Granada, (Spain) June 2006-June 2010. Supervised by Prof. Juan Soler Vizcaíno and Jose Luis López Fernández, funded by Junta de Andalucía in excelent project, in the Research Group on PDE’s in Kinetic Theory, Quantum-Kinetics, Fluid Mechanics and Developmental Biology. The subject in my PhD thesis (September 2010) was the analysis of some qualitative aspects of partial differential equations arising in developmental biology and quantum mechanics, in particular, properties of the solutions concerning diffusion, dispersion and dissipation. From January 2011 until June 2013, I was a post-doc working in The Computational and Mathematical Biology group at the Centre de Recerca Matematica (CRM) under the supervision of Tomás Alarcón, where I worked on stochastic multi-scale modelling of biological systems, mathematical modelling of the cell-cycle and the development of numerical methods for their simulation and analysis. I was a coorganizer of The CRM Applied Mathematical and Physics (CAMP) Seminars.

Currently (from June 2013), I’m Postdoctoral Research Associate in Mathematical Biology to work with Dr Karen Page (UCL Mathematics) and Dr James Briscoe (National Institute of Medical Research, Developmental Neurobiology) on mathematical modelling of the development of the neural tube in the vertebrate embryo. We are working in modelling the spatial patterning of the neural tube, how patterning is coordinated with growth and for developing an in silico neural tube.
