Sophie Lee holds a BSc degree in Mathematics with Statistics and an MSc degree in Statistics from Lancaster University. After completion of her Masters, she moved to London to work as a statistician at a Contract Research Organisation in the pharmaceutical industry where she remained for a year working on a large number of clinical trials. She joined the UCL GOS Institute of Child Health in 2015 as a teaching fellow. 

Teaching Summary

Responsible for teaching seven short courses offered by the Centre of Applied Statistics Courses within the GOS Institute of Child Health: Introduction to Research Methods and Statistics, Introduction to Regression Analysis, Introduction to Logistic Regression, Introduction to Poisson Regression, Introduction to Survival Analysis, Dealing with Missing Data and Introduction to SPSS. Experience of delivering courses to diverse groups of adult learners and teaching MSc and iBSc students. Head of the Health Research Methods module that will be offered to students studying for the iBSc in Paediatrics and Child Health from the academic year 2017/8. Co-head of Research Methods and Evidence in Global Health offered to MSc students for the academic year 2017/8. Experience of writing and marking MSc exams and theses. Provide one-to-one support to MSc and iBSc students as part of their dissertations. Facilitate seminars for students studying for the MSc in Global Health to aid their understanding of quantitative methods.
