Stephanie completed a BSc in Psychology at the University of Surrey in 2011 and when on to work in community mental health roles as an Assistant Psychologist working across Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).

She moved to London in September 2014 to study an MSc in Mental Health Service and Population Research at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience. During this time she worked on a multi-centre randomised controlled trial comparing the effectiveness of motivational interviewing with usual care for reducing cardiovascular risk and a study auditing mental health case prevalence in Emergency Departments. Her MSc dissertation was a qualitative study nested in a randomised controlled trial, looking at the experiences of participants who had attended a 2 day self-management course for poorly managed epilepsy (SMILE).
