Biography
I was an undergraduate at Queen Mary and Westfield college, London where I gained a BSc in Astrophysics in 1994. Between 1994 and 1997 I took a PhD in Astronomy on spectral analysis of cool stars at UCL. Between 1997 and 2000 I was a post-doctoral fellow at UCL, where I then took up a fixed term lectureship up to 2002 when I moved to the CNR in Rome to take up a position as a Herschel Scientist. I returned at UCL as an Advanced PPARC (now STFC) fellow in October 2003 and became a lecturer of Astrophysics in 2004. In October 2007 I became a Reader.
Research Summary

My research interests cover a variety of topics in molecular astrophysics including studies of star formation, both by observations and modelling with emphasis on the use of chemical and dynamical models to study the clumpy nature of the interstellar medium (ISM), and star forming regions, and spectral analysis of cool stars such as M and brown dwarfs.
