Research Summary

My major interest during my time in higher education has generally been in the field of education and in particular in the development of educational leaders.

Until recently I had three main lines of enquiry: Pedagogical Leadership, Use of Digital Technologies in Education and Leadership in Islamic Societies.  I have a number of peer reviewed publications in the first two aspects, with my interest in the third arising from my doctoral supervisions.

I have now reconfigured my research interests, however, as a consequence of my transition to full-time employment at UCL Institute of Education.  I will continue to work on the concept of Pedagogical Leadership, but am also now starting new research into Leadership in Multi-Academy Trusts in England.

Consequently I am not intending to do any more for a while on the Use of Digital Technologies in Education (for which I have several peer reviewed articles) or on Leadership in Islamic societies.
