Biography

Zampia Vernadaki joined the Faculty of Laws in September 2007 as a Graduate Student in the LLM programme. Zampia holds degrees in Law (LLB), Civil Law (MA) and International Commercial Law (LLM). She was awarded a PhD in Laws by UCL (2013). She is a Greek State Scholar (IKY) and a qualified lawyer (Athens Bar Association member since 2009).

In 2009, she undertook research at the International Bar Association (London), where she focused on commercial law matters, including the reform of the EU Consumer Acquis, and alternative dispute resolution. In 2010, she embarked on a traineeship in the European Parliament (Brussels), where she worked on Internal Market and Consumer Protection matters. Finally, in 2011, she carried out research in the British Institute of International and Comparative Law (London), where she analysed diverse topics of EU and Private International Law. Currently, she is a Teaching Fellow at UCL, Faculty of Laws delivering tutorial teaching in EU and Human Rights Law.

Research Summary
Zampia’s main research interests lie in EU civil procedure law and human rights, with special focus on the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights and the right to effective remedy and fair trial. Further research interests include EU constitutionalism, and its impact on European Integration.
