A Comparison of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Environment in Construction between HK and UK: issues of culture, systems and procedures in changing environments
The research is located in the global theme of well-being and has implications for cultural understanding and sustainable cities. It focuses upon the relationship between occupational health, safety and wellbeing (OHSW) and occupational health in societies of an indigenous ageing workforce in construction. It is cross-disciplinary, covering the domains of social and cultural research, public health, organizational behaviour and governance in the challenging and high risk environment of construction. From the HKU perspective, the research is part of Global Engagement and addresses the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDG) of Wellbeing and Healthy Ageing. From the UCL Grand challenges perspective, the research is located in the challenge of Human Wellbeing with linkage to cultural understanding and equality in the production of sustainable cities.
