Morgana graduated from the Dental School of Ribeirão Preto, University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil in 1993. After attending a 2 year FT residence course, she became a specialist in Endodontology at the University of São Paulo in 1996. Subsequently, she worked as an endodontist in the Army General Hospital of Sao Paulo, and for as general dentist in the Dental Public Health Service. During this period, she also became a specialist in Public Health in 1998. After this she embarked on academic development and attended a FT MSc course in Endodontics at the Piracicaba Dental School, University of Campinas, Brazil, gaining her degree in 2002. She followed this with study and research for a PhD degree in Clinical Dentistry ((Endodontics) at the same univeristy; she developed part of her research in Germany (University Hospital RWTH - Aachen) in the field of  molecular biology in the Oral Microbiology and Immunology department.  In 2006, she gained her degree and an honors prize from the Minister of Education of Brazil (CAPES) for one of the best PhD thesis in the field of Dentistry.  She worked as a Assistant Professor at the Piracicaba Dental School, where she also participated as docent in the post-graduate programmes of the Clinical Dentistry (MSc, PhD, and continuing education courses).
