Dr. Fedele has been involved in a wide range of research areas in oral medicine, including immunological diseases of the oral mucosa, jaw bones and salivary glands, as well as oral oncology. His main research interests are: - Early diagnosis of malignant and potentially malignant oral diseases - Mechanisms of epithelial cancerogenesis in chronic inflammatory diseases of the oral mucosa - Treatment of salivary gland hypofunction due to Sjogren's Syndrome and H radiotherapy - Bisphosphonate-induced ostechemonecrosis of the jawbones - Burning Mouth Syndrome - Management of chronic inflammatory oral diseases (lichen planus, pemphigus, pemphigoid, orofacial granulomatosis)
