The only interdisciplinary department in London covering history, philosophy and social studies of science, science communication and public engagement with science.  In the RAE 2008, 40% of our History and 45% of our Philosophy research was ranked as being of 'world-leading' quality.  Members of the department edit the British Journal for the History of Science, the leading international journal of the British Society for the History of Science.  Graduate students enjoy the excellent resources and networking opportunities facilitated by our high profile.
