The OMEGA 10 Project Other Collaboration with Business, Commerce or Public Corporation European Investment Bank 2013
Description
Principal Research Supervisor (with the assistance of J.D. Jorge-Calderon of Project Directorate, EIB and OMEGA Research Assistant: M. Dean of the OMEGA Centre [principal researcher]), STAges de Recherche BEI-EIB (STAREBEI) Research Programme of the EIB. This new OMEGA Centre research initiative has been launched jointly by UCL with the EIB under the latter’s STAges de REcherche BEI-EIB (STAREBEI) Research Programme with the support of an EIB grant of Euros 38,760. This 12-month study (principally undertaken by one of the Centre’s PhD students under the supervision of the Director of the OMEGA Centre and an EIB Staff member) seeks to develop a Policy-Led Multi-Criteria Analysis framework and attendant processes to facilitate more holistic and transparent approaches to the planning and appraisal of mega infrastructure projects in major European seaport cities. It is intended that the main research findings from this study will contribute to the further development of PLMCA in the context of EIB appraisal practices, especially in relation to the appraisal of large-scale capital investments in seaport infrastructure where a broader perspective can better highlight and address major investment risks and opportunities. The scope of work for this project has been considerably informed by earlier OMEGA Projects, namely OMEGA 1, 2 and 3 but also OMEGA 8 and 9.
