Youth Mental Health First Aid Intervention Evaluation Approach Invited Speaker Education Media Centre 04-NOV-2019
Description
Presentation: Youth Mental Health First Aid (Youth MHFA) One and Two Day Programme Evaluation Approach - To determine which practitioner characteristics are effective in influencing whole school staff and student perception of others’ feelings, own feelings, self-regulation and decision making to support self and other’s good mental health i.e. empathy. To be informed by neuroscience of empathy to develop measures to evaluate effectiveness of Youth MHFA in schools. Round Table Discussion: Sveta will discuss a two-year evaluation of the Youth MHFA One Day programme. The findings reveal education practitioners hold potential in commanding insights into children and young people’s mental health and intervening to prevent or address mental health illness. However, this advantage is dependent upon the bounds of their professional roles. Evaluation of the Youth MHFA Two Day Programme is ongoing.
