His fields of interest include fire protection of spacecraft for long-duration missions, soot production and flame quenching in the absence of buoyant flows; fire protection of historic buildings through modelling of fire spread and development in vaulted structure, with an emphasis on the interactions between the fire and the structure; and city-scale fire modelling to improve existing policies and response protocols in densely-populated areas.
