Amber John completed her PhD at the University of Sussex testing longitudinal associations between affective symptoms and cognitive ageing using data from the British Birth Cohorts (NSHD and NCDS). In 2019, she moved to UCL to work as a research fellow in the Ageing, Dementia and Psychological Therapies (ADAPT) Lab.

Amber is a research fellow working on the MODIFY project, an Alzheimer's Society funded research project based in the ADAPT Lab at UCL (www.adaptlab.net). Her research interests are longitudinal associations between depression/anxiety over the life course and cognitive ageing. Her current work focuses on testing whether effective treatment of depression/anxiety through psychological therapies offered in the NHS can contribute to dementia risk reduction.
