I completed my PhD in Health Psychology at the University of Surrey in 2013, looking at lifestyle-related psycho-social processes following prostate cancer diagnosis. I have also completed my Stage 2 in Health Psychology Practice training.
I am interested in questions around cancer prevention, early diagnosis and using patient-reported outcomes in cancer management and palliative care. I am currently involved in projects related to using technology to a) optimize early cancer diagnosis and b) collect validated patient data. My secondary interests is on medication adherence among chronic patients and medical education. I use a mixed methods approach to research, including both quantitative and qualitative approaches as well as systematic reviews.
I have taught psychology and medical students in areas like Health Psychology, Psychology Applied in Medicine, Research Methods, Statistics and Introduction to Psychology. At UCL I am involved in teaching Theory of Measurement in the Measuring Population Health module for the BSc in Population Health, Inequalities in Healthcare for the MBBS programme and in the CLAHRC North Thames Introduction in Evaluation course.
