Anika holds degrees in Nutritional Sciences (BSc, MSc) from Martin-Luther-University in Germany, and a PhD in Epidemiology andPublic Health from University College London (UCL). Before rejoining UCL in 2021, she worked at the Cancer Epidemiology Unit (CEU) at the Nuffield Department of Population Health at the University of Oxford as a Nutritional Epidemiologist.

She was a Junior Research Fellow at St Anne's College Oxford and sipported the work of Centre of Personal Medicine (CPM) in this role, such as producing the CPM podcast, organising and hosting events. She is currently an associate editor with the International Journal of Epidemiology and a regular peer-reviewing for manuscripts in journals such as the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, Psychological medicine and Cancer Epidemiology & Biomarkers.

Research Summary

Anika is working on the NIHR-UKRI funded Convalescencestudy, that uses data from established population cohorts and nationalanonymised electronic health records to investigate long-COVID-19.

Teaching Summary
Anika has been a guest lecturer, teaching assistant, tutor an  academic supervisor for the at the University of Oxford's MSc Global Health Science and Epidemiology between 2019-2021. She has been a guest lecturer on Nutritional Epidemiology for the BSc Nutrition and Medical Sciences and MSc Clinical and Public Health Nutrition at the Medical Sciences Division at UCL since 2016. She has supported teaching in MSc Social Epidemiology at the Institute of Epidemiology and Health Care at UCL. In her time at the University of Oxford she has co-supervised several MSc students, and mentored PhD students.
