Biography

Aiden is a lecturer at the UCL Department for Security and Crime Science. He first joined the Department in September 2006 as a Research Assistant and later Research Associate. Between 2009 and 2012 Aiden pursued his Ph.D. full time. 


Research Themes
Research Summary

Aiden's main research interests are problem-oriented policing, situational crime prevention and crime prevention evaluation. Aiden has worked on various projects with numerous sponsors including the AHRC, ESRC, EPSRC, Home Office and several UK police forces. He has published over 25 articles in the fields of policing and criminology in journals such as Criminology, Journal of Research in Crime and Delinquency and Journal of Experimental Criminology. 



Teaching Summary

Aiden contributes to the following taught modules:


  • Psychology and Crime 
  • Forensic Psychology
  • Foundations in Security and Crime Science
  • Crime and Public Health
  • Preventing crimes


He also teaches on several short courses run by the UCL Department for Security and Crime Science for police and partner agencies.
