Biography

I studied History as an undergraduate (Exeter University) and sociology and social policy as a postgraduate (London School of Economics). I trained and worked as a social worker with children and families in London before becoming a Researcher. My PhD, which I completed in 2013, is in childhood sociology. I am a qualitative researcher with over 20 years experience of carrying out research about the lives of children, young people and their families from sociological and social policy perspectives. I teach undergraduates and postgraduates on social research methods and sociology of childhood modules, as well as supervise MA and PhD students.  I am a member of the UCL IOE Ethics Committee.
