I am a Principal Investigator in the Condensed Matter and Material Physics Group at UCL and a member of the London Centre for Nanotechnology. Before this I was a Glasstone Fellow at the Rudolf Peierls Centre for Theoretical Physics and New College, Oxford.  Prior to moving to the UK, I was a postdoctoral fellow in the Condensed Matter Theory Group at Harvard. I received postgraduate degrees at Princeton and Cambridge where I was a Gates scholar at Christ's College. I  hail from India, having received my undergraduate degree in Physics at St. Stephen's College, Delhi University. As an undergraduate I was a KVPY scholar which is awarded by the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.

Research Summary

I am a theoretical physicist with interests in condensed matter physics and quantum information science. I am interested in the behaviour of natural and engineered quantum systems comprising of atoms, electrons, and light. These systems host a range of non-equilibrium phenomena due to interactions amongst themselves and with their environment. My research aims to unravel new dynamical phenomena realised due to the quantum superposition principle and entanglement, with potential applications for the new generation of quantum devices.

More specifically, I am interested in the phenomena of many-body localisation (MBL), quantum thermalisation, time-crystals, topological insulators, and coherent spin dynamics in semiconductors.
