Adam is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Education, University College London. His main work has been in London as a youth worker, teacher and teacher educator. This encompassed Business, Economics and Technology education. Adam works on the Doctorate in Education (EdD) as a module leader, tutor and supervisor. He runs sessions and tutors on various MA programmes. Research interests include new teacher learning, the role of technology in education, work related learning, learning outside the classroom and global development education.
Adam co-authored with John Yandell ‘Rethinking Education: Whose Knowledge is it anyway?’ (2016) ‘This book challenges common assumptions and the commodification of education. Within a global context it presents a progressive, egalitarian alternative’.

Adam has worked on various education projects in the UK and overseas. His postgraduate work includes an MSc in Development Studies and a Doctorate in Education. He has been an active trade unionist throughout his working life.
