Atika is a doctor with an interest in restoring sight and preventing blindness in low and middle-income countries. She completed her medical training at the Gadjah Mada University in Indonesia, where she graduated with distinction.
She is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in glaucoma at UCL.
Prior to her PhD candidature, she had involved in some research projects focusing on delivering high-quality, low-cost eye care in underserved areas in Indonesia. She worked as a research assistant on the diabetic retinopathy screening program in rural communities and a collaborative phase-I clinical trial project (development of stem cell therapy) in Indonesia.
Atika's research interests include clinical and epidemiological research in glaucoma. Her current project aims to inform the future use of patient-reported outcome measures in glaucoma care.
