Research Themes
Research Summary

Andrew is an Associate Professor in International Nutrition at UCL and works on nutrition and public health in populations affected by humanitarian emergencies caused by conflict or disasters. He co-leads the Centre for Climate Change, Migration, Conflict, and Health.

Research interests include the epidemiology of malnutrition; optimisation of food assistance and health interventions; and health & mortality surveillance systems. Recent projects have been funded by FCDO, USAID/OFDA, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He has worked in Bangladesh, Eastern Europe, and many countries in Africa.

Teaching Summary

Chairs the departmental Research Ethics Committee and is the Departmental representative for Green issues. Organises the MSc/iBSc Conflict Humanitarianism and Health teaching module.
