Antonia is programme lead for the MSc Systematic Reviews for Social Policy and Practice. She is also a researcher with extensive experience of undertaking and managing mixed-methods research projects, with particular expertise in systematic reviewing methods and secondary analysis of official statistics, administrative, cross-sectional and longitudinal data. Her research interests include childcare, early years, the early years' and care workforces, children’s wellbeing, children’s diets and trends in ethnicity and poverty.

She is currently reviewing 'whole family' approaches in paediatric care. In 2017 she was the EPPI Centre lead systematic reviewer for a 'Service User Experience' NICE review. Between 2012 and 2015, she led a project examining the ‘Provision and Use of Preschool Childcare in Britain’. Between 2015 and 2016 she led an evaluation of PACEY’s initiative to support children and families with starting school. She is also part of a research team working on a European Research Council funded study that examines what young people and their families eat in Portugal, the UK and Norway, and how they manage in difficult economic times.
