Research Summary
Optimization and testing of an analogue optical coherent receiver for satellite communications.
The project aims to demonstrate that an analogue approach to coherent receivers for satellite communications would allow to reduce power consumption. A testbed emulating the effect of the atmosphere on the optical signal is being designed and tested, allowing to characterize an Optical Injection Phase-Lock Loop (OIPLL) type coherent receiver.
