Research Groups
Research Summary
My current research focuses on digital games, platforms, digital media, identities, decoloniality, and game production by excluded and non-mainstream groups. I have also previously published on digital games and education, media and game literacies.

My research topics are:
- critical game studies
- platform studies
- game-making by non-professionals/non-mainstream groups
- game production studies
- decolonial approaches to digital games and game histories
Teaching Summary
I am module leader for "Digital Game Design" and contributing tutor to "Digital Media Theory", "Digital Media Enquiry", "Multimodality and Fan Cultures", and "Creativity: from Theory to Practice in English, Media and Drama". I currently supervise MA dissertations on the MA Digital Media: Production programme.

I am also a subsidary PhD supervisor and interested in co-supervising projects on topics related to critical game studies, platforms, digital media circuits in the Global South and/or decolonial approaches to games and digital media. For potential PhD students please only get in touch if you have already identified a primary supervisor within UCL.
