BIO

Charis is a Senior Research Fellow in Population Health and Quantitative Social Science at the Centre for Longitudinal Studies (CLS) at UCL. Charis conducts research related to physical health using data from the CLS cohorts (the 1958 NCDS, BCS70, Next Steps, 2000/2 MCS), with a focus on understanding inequalities in health between cohorts and across the life course. She is the co-lead for Physical Health Research at CLS, and involved in mapping the impact to the CLS cohorts in both research and policy.

Prior to joining CLS, Charis completed a MRC-funded PhD in Social Epidemiology at UCL from 2017 to 2022, investigating social inequalities in body composition in the 2000/2 Millennium Cohort Study. During her PhD, Charis undertook a Research and Policy Engagement Internship with CLOSER, working on the response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Charis also has a BA in Human Sciences from the University of Oxford.
