Christine is an experienced teacher educator with expertise in the areas of language and literacy, learning and teaching in urban schools, culturally relevant pedagogy and equality and diversity.

She is committed to educational equity and social justice, and is interested in research that focuses on the achievement and experiences of BME students in initial teacher education; the identities of BME men in teaching; race equality (policy and practice) in teacher education; critical race theory and identities.

 She is currently the Faculty Lead for BME Attainment at the IOE and the co-convenor of the Race and Leadership Special Interest Group of BELMAS.
