Biography
I graduated with BSc in Biomedical Sciences and PhD in Immunology from Universiti Putra Malaysia. My PhD dissertation examined the mucosal immune response in tiger grouper infected with Vibrio. In this study, changes in mucosal cell types and mucus protein expression were described. This research experience developed my interest in the underlying mechanisms that direct an individual's immune response and how this understanding can be applied to explain disease processes to strategize disease management or therapeutic interventions.

I am currently a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Bladder Infection and Immunity Group (BIIG) at UCL, studying host immune response and pathogenesis of chronic urinary tract infection (UTI).

Research Summary

I have a keen interest in the areas of immunology and infectious diseases. My current work focuses on characterising host immune response towards chronic urinary tract infection (UTI). The goal is to have a better understanding of the underlying immune mechanisms that lead to chronic UTI to facilitate a more informed diagnosis and treatment for this disease.
