Research Summary

Christopher Edwards is Doctor in History Education of the University College London Institute of Education. He is a specialist in history education Initial Teacher Training with special interest in the development of pupils’ procedural knowledge. His research is being developed in: the politics of history education in England, the aims of history education, and the development of pupils second order conceptual understandings. His PhD examined the contribution post-war authors made to the development of history education in England. His publications are on the use of oral testimony, and teaching the Holocaust, textbooks and popular songs.
