Professor Claire Cameron is Deputy Director, Thomas Coram Research Unit (TCRU) and founding member of the Centre for Understanding of Social Pedagogy (CUSP) at UCL Institute of Education. She is a sociologist interested in research studies about, with and for looked after children, early childood education and care, European comparative research, and cross-national methods.

Research students
Professor Claire Cameron welcomes enquiries from prospective doctoral students in relation to the following topics: social pedagogy, children's workforce, education of looked after children, foster care, residential care, early childhood education and care, male workers, European perspectives and cross-national methods. She is particularly interested in concepts of care, education and upbringing.
She has externally examined PhDs at the University of Roskilde and the University of Edinburgh.
