Biography

Chibueze joined GOSH ICH in February 2019 as a Teaching Fellow in the Centre for Applied Statistics Courses. He completed a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics from the University of Nigeria and a Master’s degree in Statistics with Biomedical Applications from the University of Nottingham. Prior to joining GOSH, Chibueze worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Nigeria from 2012 to 2014, teaching core undergraduate statistics modules as well as statistics for biological sciences. At the University of Nottingham where Chibueze is completed his PhD in Statistics, he was a Teaching Assistant in the School of Mathematical Sciences (2015-2018) and the main course tutor for the Graduate School course on quantitative methods for engineers (2016-2019).  Chibueze’s research interests includes functional data analysis and statistical distribution theory. Chibueze teaches a range of statistics modules and short courses offered by the Centre for Applied Statistics Courses and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). 

Research Summary

Main research interests include:


  • Functional data analysis: application to biomedical data
  • Classification of multiple component data
  • High dimensional statistics and random projection classifiers 
  • Statistical distribution theory: alternative distributions on [0, 1] 
  • Pedagogy of statistics.
Previous interest:
  • Estimation of missing data in experimental designs.
