Biography

I am a lecturer, who teaches and supervises Thai language arts pre-service teachers for secondary schools, at the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. I am also an educational researcher at the Multicultural Studies and Social Innovation Centre (MSSIC) of the University working on Education, Conflict and Peacebuilding

I hold a B.Ed in Secondary Education (Teaching Thai) (Hons) from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand and an M.Ed in Education with a focus on curriculum, pedagogy and assessment from the University of Melbourne, Australia. I have now been on leave for reading a doctorate in Education, Practice and Society at IOE, UCL's Faculty of Education and Society since September 2019 under the supervision of Associate Professor Tejendra Pherali and Professor Elaine Chase with the expectation of finishing my study in September 2023.

Research Themes
Research Summary

My doctoral thesis focuses on education for peacebuilding and social justices in schools under basic education (K-12) in conflict-affected southern Thailand--public schools, Islamic private schools and Pondoks in collaboration with non-formal education centres. It explores the dimensions of educational policies, educational constituencies' perspectives, school practices and possible suggestions.

My research interests cover three key themes:

- Curriculum, pedagogy and assessment in Thai education with a main focus on teaching Thai language arts;

- Education, conflict and peacebuilding in conflict-affected southern Thailand where an ethno-religious conflict
  has long existed for a century;

- Critical education and critical literacy with a concern about decolonial thinking.
