Catriona obtained her BSc in Mathematics and Physics at the University of Bristol in 2013 before completing her MSc in Computational Fluid Dynamics at Cranfield University in 2014. After graduating, she spent four years as an Aerodynamics Research Engineer at Dyson, using CFD to understand and improve product performance in collaboration with design engineers. In May 2019, After six months working in the Airbus Flight Physics department, she started her PhD in Mechanical Engineering at University College London.

Research Summary
Catriona is developing patient-specific, multiscale Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) techniques to investigate aortic haemodynamics with a focus on Type-B Aortic Dissection. In collaboration with clinicians, she uses ANSYS Fluent & CFX and 0D system modelling to generate patient-specific simulations from non-invasive medical imaging datasets.
