I received a BSc in biomedical science at the university of Surrey. During this time I completed a one year research placement at the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture science conducting AMR surveillance in the Gulf UAE as part of a "Food and Agriculture Organization" funded project. This project revealed to me the urgency of Anti-microbial resistance and inspired me to further my interests in combatting this global crisis. I then went on to obtain an MRes in bacterial pathogenesis and infection from Imperial College London studying secretion systems in Pseudomonas aeruginosa within the context of chronic Cystic Fibrosis infections. I am now doing my PhD at UCL where I am aiming to improve the study of chronic UTI and host-pathogen interactions using organ-on-a-chip technology as part of an EPSRC funded grant titled "Beyond Antibiotics".
