Biography
I completed my PhD in 1996 at the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine. After four years at Imperial as a Teaching Assistant and then a Research Associate I was appointed as a lecturer at the former Department of Computer Science, Kings College London. I moved to UCL as part of the CREST group in 2010.

Research Summary
The following themes occur in my research: analysis of programs and models, information flow and dependency, information theory, software flow security, testing software, semantic equivalence of software. 

My current research applies these ideas to the following areas: semantics based detection and classification of malware, information flow analysis for problems in software testing, slicing software models, the theory of flow security for interactive, nondeterministic systems.
Teaching Summary
I teach courses in functional programming using Haskell, Operating System Concepts and Language based Security. I am the Director of the Information Security MSc for the Department of Computer Science at UCL.
