My research involves synthesising evidence for social policy and developing methods to enhance the use of evidence in decision-making. Methodologically, my interests currently lie in developing methods to assess and enhance the generalisability of systematic review and meta-analyses findings to specific and defined populations, as well as synthesis methods for complex interventions. I am interested in the use and potential of large datasets and diverse data sources, including various forms of real-world data, in informing social and health policy. I am also interested in the development and use of theory to support and communicate research, and particularly through the use of logic models. Substantively I am interested in demography and ageing, and in understanding diversity among older populations. My substantive interests also span a number of public health topics and issues around social exclusion and sexuality. My PhD examined contextual influencers of transitions to early and postponed parenthood.
