BIO
David is a researcher and freelance journalist, working on intersection between organised crime, people smuggling and border policing. He is currently completing his PhD at the UCL Jill Dando Institute of Crime Science on the impacts of border enforcement on the adaptation of people smuggling.
He is the co-director of the creative journalism collective Brush & Bow, and collaborates regularly with international media by producing multimedia forensic investigations and video documentaries. He is a consultant to international organisations and law firms, and delivers guest seminars at universities in Europe and the Middle East.
David is currently working as Departmental Lecturer in criminology at the Center for Criminology, University of Oxford, where he is a memeber of the Border Criminologies research group.
